Front Desk Volunteer (Concord) 2026
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is recruiting for a Front Desk Volunteer to help assist at our Concord office. As a first point of contact, Front Desk Volunteers represent the Food Bank to a diverse public and support our mission to lead the fight to end hunger, in partnership with our community and in service to our neighbors in need.

We are looking for a volunteer who can make a 3 hour weekly commitment on an ongoing basis to support our Front Desk. Volunteer Job Responsibilities include:
- Greet visitors and direct to the appropriate staff or location.
- Answer phones, direct and return calls.
- Provide assistance to clients needing food resources.
- Monitor Outlook email inbox and use templates to send emails on behalf of the Food Bank.
- Stuff envelopes.
- Provide data entry.
- Assist with administrative and special projects as needed.
- Interest in the mission of the Food Bank.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic administrative and customer service skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Legible handwriting.
- Ability to sit for 3 hours at a time and work to support Front Desk staff.
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field is preferred.
- Comfort interacting with diverse people. Sensitive to the needs of others.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Ability to make at least a 1-year commitment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.
- Adhere to Volunteer Waiver, Policies, Safety Rules, Agreements, and Code of Conduct.
