CalFresh ABAWD Volunteer Service

The Food Bank welcomes individuals seeking volunteer hours to fulfill the work requirements of their CalFresh Able-Bodied Adult Without Dependents (ABAWD) status. Please review the ABAWD Work Requirement Checklist and submit the request form (coming soon!).

Verifying ABAWD Volunteer Service

You can print and track hours with the California Department of Social Service’s CalFresh volunteer work hours verification form.

Verifying service may be requested only after completing all scheduled hours to fulfill your CalFresh ABAWD requirements.
Volunteer service verifications are requested by emailing volunteerhelpdesk@foodbankccs.org.
Please allow up to two business days, after you have submitted your email request.
Verification letters will be emailed as a pdf. You are required to upload it to your BenefitsCal account, submit it by mail, or deliver in person to your local county office.

Volunteer Data Privacy Notice

The Food Bank requires volunteers to register for a volunteer account and provide us with contact information for safety reasons, in case of an emergency and/or for the Food Bank to complete any requests for hours verification from our volunteers.

We are committed to keeping volunteer information safe. The online system we use is encrypted and access is restricted to only those who need the information to support volunteerism with the Food Bank. No individual or personally identifiable information will be shared with the government or for commercial purposes unless the volunteer requests the Food Bank to verify their volunteer hours for community service or if required by a court of law.
