Completing Your Hours:
- ABAWD Volunteers may not drop in to any volunteer opportunities they are not registered for. Walk-ins or volunteers who are not scheduled for the shift are not permitted.
- The Food Bank does not award partial credit for volunteer hours. To receive credit for your volunteer hours, you must attend the shift from start to finish.
- Volunteers must sign-in for their shifts on the tablet. If the tablet is not working, you will need to ask staff for the paper attendance sheet to record your hours.
- It is the volunteer’s responsibility to complete their hours, request verification, and submit their verification needed to retain their benefit.
- The Volunteer Services Team are the only Food Bank staff members approved to verify your volunteer hours. Food Bank Warehouse staff and staff at distribution sites cannot verify your hours because they do not have access to your volunteer account to verify all your hours served at the Food Bank.
- When you need to verify your hours, please email the Volunteer Services Team at volunteerhelpdesk@foodbankccs.org. They will complete the CalFresh Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents Volunteer Work Hours Verification Form and email it to you, so that you can upload it to your BenefitsCal account, submit my mail or in person at your local county office. Please note: the office hours of our Volunteer Services Team are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays.) Please allow up to two business days for a response.
- By agreeing to this policy, you are granting the Food Bank permission to verify your service with your local county welfare office.
