Development Volunteer 2025
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is looking for volunteers who can work in our Concord office and assist our Development Department by working with our Volunteer Services Team. Are you interested in using your customer service and administrative skills and talents to support the work of your local Food Bank? We are looking for volunteers who can make a three hour weekly commitment on an ongoing basis. This volunteer opportunity is available Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. If you want to make a difference in the fight against local hunger and you meet the required qualifications listed below, then we would like to talk to you!

- Contact volunteer groups to remind them of their upcoming shift
- Record any changes to the total number of volunteers a group will be bringing in
- Supporting volunteers with navigating how to register for a Food Bank volunteer account and how to sign up for volunteer shifts
- Respond to volunteer inquiries by phone or email using provided templates
- Special projects as needed; preparing mail, data entry, etc.
- Interest in the mission of the Food Banks
- Basic administrative and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint. Salesforce experience is a plus
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field is preferred
- Ability to sit at a desk for up to three hours if needed
- Comfort interacting with community members from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to make at least a 1-year commitment
- Experience volunteering at a Food Bank in the past two years is required
- Must be at last 18 years of age
- Adhere to Volunteer Waiver, Policies, Safety Rules, Agreements, and Code of Conduct
