Girl Scout Day at the Food Bank (Fairfield Warehouse) 2015-2017
This opportunity is only open to Girl Scout troops and individual Girl Scouts (Daisy through Senior). All three shifts on Saturday, October 22nd, have been designated as Girl Scout Day at the Food Bank. If you are not associated with the Girl Scouts and would like to bring your children to volunteer, please join us for a Family Food Sort, held the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Girl Scout Troops and individual Girl Scouts as young as five, accompanied by an adult, are invited to participate in this volunteer opportunity at the Fairfield warehouse. Girls and adults will bag fresh produce for the Community Produce Program. This is a first come, first served opportunity and registration is limited to 30 people per shift. One adult from each troop or Girl Scout family should sign up and then contact the Volunteer Help Desk at volunteerhelpdesk@foodbankccs.org and ask to have your additional troop members (or daughter(s) for individuals) added as guests.
These shifts are specifically geared to Girl Scout Troops and Girl Scout families. Minimum age to attend is five.
• All volunteers must be scheduled.
• Closed toe shoes are mandatory (tennis shoes are fine).
• There is no heat or air-conditioning in the warehouse so volunteers should dress accordingly; we recommend dressing in layers.
