Opportunity Details

Friday Boxing Project (Fairfield) 2020

Ongoing volunteers are needed to help with our Mobile Food Pharmacy Friday Boxing Project at our Fairfield warehouse. This is an assembly line type project where volunteers fill food boxes to support our Mobile Food Pharmacy Program which distributes fresh produce and non-perishable items at medical centers in Solano County. Volunteers fill boxes on a manual conveyor system called the “Skate” as they move down a warehouse aisle filling each box with specific items. Groups willing to make a monthly commitment for a year are welcome.

We’re doing the best that we can to accommodate social distancing where possible.  Please be flexible with our staff as they adjust to developing situations.

  • All volunteers must be scheduled.
  • Volunteers need to arrive no later than the shift start time.
  • Closed toe shoes are mandatory (tennis shoes are fine).
  • There is no heat or air-conditioning in the warehouse so volunteers should dress accordingly; we recommend volunteers dress in layers.
  • This opportunity is not open to individuals needing court-ordered community service.
The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
