Events Volunteer 2019
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is looking for volunteers to assist our Events Team! Throughout the year, the Food Bank hosts a robust schedule of special events to raise funds to support our mission to lead the fight to end hunger, in partnership with our community and in service to our neighbors in need. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help throughout the year, including at our annual gala on June 1, 2019. If the below responsibilities and qualifications describe you, we would love to talk to you!
Volunteer Job Responsibilities may include:
- Join an event committee which requires participation and attending meetings
- Event set-up and breakdown
- Silent and live auction support
- Registration
- Greeting and directing guests
- Raffle ticket sales
Applicant's necessary qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail, including written correspondence
- Solid administrative skills
- Proficiency in both Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong analytical skills and research experience
- Strong customer service skills, including phone and email communications
- Ability to work independently (after any necessary instruction/training)
- Interest in and desire to learn about Food Banks, special events, and fundraising
- Desirable skills: Event support experience, database management experience, knowledge of local community
