Hunger Study 2017
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is looking for volunteers to conduct interviews as part of our upcoming study on hunger in Contra Costa and Solano counties. Every four years, the Food Bank conducts a survey to collect information about the clients we serve. We will use this research to improve our programs and services, raise awareness of hunger and poverty, and advocate for public policy changes to address this problem. We are looking for volunteers who will go out to our distribution locations and interview clients, utilizing iPads to collect data. No interviewing experience is necessary – volunteers will attend a mandatory two hour training prior to starting. Volunteers will be needed mid-August through mid-November. We are looking for volunteers who:
- Are comfortable interacting with people of diverse backgrounds
- Have a positive attitude
- Have strong attention to detail
- Are able to follow complex instructions
- Have good listening skills
- Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines
